Description
In 2015, I travelled to King William Island in Canada's remote north, to report a story on Sir John Franklin’s lost ships. Vegetation is scarce that far beyond the tree line, but I was delighted by the beauty of the lichen growing on rocks. I found their patterns astonishing, I hadn't seen anything like it before, and I made several studies. The blooms and variations resembles the aurora borealis I’d see in the Arctic night sky.
Printed in mineral based archival inks with resin on 310gsm Hahnemuhle Museum Etching paper with a cut edge.
Stamped and embossed, waxed oak frame, 680 x 460 x 31mm
