“I have been always fascinated by maps. Somehow you could read them as some of the first abstract pictures. It’s very interesting to see their evolution.” - Erwan Bouroullec

The first in Erwan Bouroullec’s series of wall hangings is a new take on a unique theme: generating patterns from layers and codes from geographic maps. Knitted in pure wool, it has a distinctly tactile individuality.

Risk Knit Large

Light blue, yellow, beige
Size: (LxW) 155× 130cm (measured flat, before hanging, without tension)
Weight: app. 1410g.

Risk Knit is a collection of wall hangings by artist, designer and and tech subverter, Erwan Bouroullec. The knits are produced in collaboration with Kvadrat Febrik, exclusively for The Wrong Shop.

Dimensional changes in the artwork cannot be controlled, and are desired as part of the concept. Its construction in natural material produces subtle variations, while temperature and humidity influence the woollen medium. The fabric will lengthen after hanging, due to the structural pattern and weight.

Erwan Bouroullec has designed minimal oak brackets, to mount the knits on the wall.

Each Risk Knit will be produced in an edition of 100 units. For each edition sold, The Wrong Shop will provide a signed and numbered certificate of provenance from Erwan Bouroullec.
