Akua Prints
Created during his time as visiting professor at the Iceland University of the Arts in Reykjavik, Fraser Muggeridge’s Akua Print Series explores printmaking as a creative act in itself rather than a tool for reproduction. Each work was made by scraping layers of Akua ink directly onto paper using a custom tool, merging precision with spontaneity.
Through rhythm, repetition and movement, Muggeridge uses printmaking to think through making. The resulting compositions shift between control and accident, with lines and gestures that appear both abstract and familiar. They suggest movement, touch and rhythm while resisting clear interpretation.
In this series, Muggeridge reconnects the roles of designer and printer, uniting conceptual and technical thinking through the physical act of creation. Presented by The Wrong Shop, the Akua Print Series celebrates the point where design becomes art, and where process and imagination meet on paper.
