Amelia Humber

           Amelia Humber (b. 1984) lives and works in East London, from the studio nestled at the end of her garden. Although geographically distant from the rural landscapes that fuel her work, Amelia embarks on journeys across the UK, be it mountains, the untamed beauty of the Scottish Highlands, or the captivating Cornish coast. Immersed in these diverse environments, she absorbs the essence of her surroundings.

           Upon her return to the urban landscape of London, within the solace of her studio, Amelia translates her travels into paintings. Consulting notes and perusing photographs captured during her excursions, she breathes life into her paintings by channeling the enduring memories of her wanderings.

           Amelia's fascination with the landscape finds its roots in her childhood spent in the Sussex countryside. Exploring the South Downs, she cultivated a connection with the ever-changing skies and their profound impact on the land.
