Martin Parr
West Bromwich Size B
A vivid and characteristically observant photograph by one of Britain’s most celebrated photographers, Martin Parr, renowned for his bold colour and sharp visual humour. Produced in collaboration with Wrong Shop and Rocket Gallery, this exclusive poster showcases Parr’s distinctive perspective on everyday British life.
West Bromwich is drawn from Parr’s Black Country Stories series, created over four years between 2010 and 2014 while documenting communities across the Black Country. Published to coincide with exhibitions at The New Art Gallery Walsall and Wolverhampton Art Gallery, the project places a strong emphasis on portraiture and local identity.
This image features Norman Soper, winner of Best Pot Leek at the Sandwell Show — a quietly humorous and affectionate portrait that reflects Parr’s enduring interest in regional traditions and character.
