Nathalie Du Pasquier: Thick Line Drawings

Pioneering artist and designer Nathalie Du Pasquier debuts two tactile designs, meticulously translated into embossed limited edition prints.

Take a look behind the scenes of this limited edition print, exclusively with Wrong Shop. Each of Nathalie Du Pasquier's ‘Thick Line Drawing’ artworks have been manually produced using blind-embossing, in close collaboration with artisan printmakers at Thames-Side Print Studio in London.

Milan-based, Nathalie was a founding member of the influential Memphis Milano group. Her multifaceted practice celebrates a purist approach to shape and space – as demonstrated here in our latest release.

Each ‘Thick Line Drawing’ design is made into a photopolymer plate. It is then pressed on a traditional Rochat Intaglio press, and hand-pulled, before being signed and numbered by the artist. This way of printing offers precision and texture, and has been carefully selected for the depth created. The process constructs a dynamic image that changes with the angle of light. A delicate yet minimal composition that places focus on Nathalie's classic abstraction. What appears so simple is intricate and intentional. 

The original designs are conceived from the Nieves publication ‘Drawings with Thick Lines’, created on the occasion of the 2022 exhibition ‘Geometric Opulence’ at Museum Haus Konstruktiv in Zurich, and features Nathalie’s more recent linear and sculptural structures.
